The AmDTuning.com team will hope to bounce back from a difficult outing at Oulton Park when the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship heads to Croft this weekend for the fifth meeting of the season.
Although the West Thurrock-based team was able to pick up three points scoring finishes last time out in Cheshire, a misfire on race day prevented Attleborough racer Ollie Jackson from showing the true potential of his turbo-powered VW Golf; which had undergone extensive development work prior to the event.

With the team having worked to resolve the issues it faced at Oulton Park, Ollie heads to Croft in optimistic mood as he prepares to compete at the North East venue for the first time since 2010.
With Croft marking the half-way point of the season, Ollie will now hope to end the first half of the 2012 campaign on a high to boost the team heading into the BTCC’s traditional summer break.
“After Oulton Park, we need a good weekend at Croft to raise spirits before the summer break and I think we’ll get one,” he said. “I haven’t raced at Croft since 2010 and it’ll be good to go back again as it’s a circuit I like and the Golf ran well there last year. Since then, we’ve made a lot of improvements and the car is going quicker and quicker, but the competition is tough and no-one on the grid is standing still.
“Even with the misfire at Oulton, we showed flashes of great potential but luck just wasn’t with us. If we can realize our potential this weekend, then we’re on to a good thing.”
Team boss Shaun Hollamby – who drove the Golf at Croft last season – said he was confident that the weekend would see the team unlock more of the potential within the car to challenge for three strong results.
“We stripped the car down completely when we got it back to base after Oulton and have replaced a number of parts to solve the problems we faced,” he said. “We’ve also spent time on the rolling road and have made some suspension modifications based on what we were able to learn last time out.
“Ollie was a lot more confident in the car at Oulton Park but the misfire meant he wasn’t able to show his true potential. As long as there is no repeat of the misfire, I expect us to be strong at Croft as the car went well there last year and hopefully we can start to unlock the extra potential we have discovered in the Golf to enter the summer break on a high.”
