Paul Morris leads into the final hour
BMW driver Paul Morris put his pedal to the metal and raced toward a potential second win in the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour race at Mount Panorama today.
With an hour left to the 6.30 pm finish, the 2007 winner had covered 181 laps and held a lead of more than one minute over the Mitsubishi Lancer of David Wall, with no need to pit again for fuel or tyres.
Glenn Seton forced his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 10 into third past recently-retired V8 Supercar driver Cameron McConville and the hulking black Holden Commodore R8 Sportwagon.
After a gruelling day of frequent rain and even a falling tree, conditions were improving in the final hour, with the first glimpse of sunshine showing over the mountain since the Event started in near-darkness at 6.30 am.
