Emery shows the way
Following his two wins at Winton, Geoff Emery has qualified on pole for both races. Emery has been the man the beat since the Commodore Cup joined the Power Tour and was in a class of his own.

Marcus Zukanovic will start alongside him in the first of two races while David Gittus and Craig Domaschenz will be on row two. Behind them are Neville Haley and Kane Rose. Less than half a second covers the top nine qualifiers.

Emery was clearly fastest in the second session, almost half a second ahead of Haley who has qualified second. Domaschenz and Gittus will start on row two ahead of Andrew McInnes and Neil Crowe.

Daewoo's Calder man
John Pagonas has proven to be something of a fly in the ointment for the regular front runners in the Kumho Tyres Daewoo Challenge. Pagonas had been the fastest man in both sesssions, eclipsing the best times of Ian Kegg, Michael Goode and Richard Hing for race one. Chris Oxley and Francisco Valles are the next best placed.

For race two it was also a fight behind Pagonas with Kegg again second fastest ahead of Valles, Goode, Oxley and Richard Buttrose. With the series seemingly between Kegg and Oxley, it will be a far more interesting encounter with Pagonas ahead of them.

HQs backup
Following a four-hour endurance event the weekend before, HQ Holdens have have backed up to support the Power Tour with Dale Bennett taking pole ahead of Geoff Harris, Keven Stoopman, Dallas Crane and Rod Raatjes.

Brothers battle it out
The Sieders siblings Albert and Bill will start off the front row for the first of three Co-Drivers Cup truck races this weekend. Both are driving MANs and have a decisive advantage over the Kenworths of Nigel Valois, John Falk and V8 Stock Car driver Bob Middleton.
