Korean GP recruits Aussie help

FORMULA 1TM KOREAN GRAND PRIX APPOINTS CAMS

The Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS) together with the Korea Automobile Racing Association (KARA) and the Korea Auto Valley Operation (KAVO) today announced a partnership which will see CAMS provide organisational, operational and officials training to support the inaugural FORMULA 1 Korean Grand Prix from 22-24 October 2010.

In announcing this 3 year partnership, CAMS President, Mr Andrew Papadopoulos said "following on from the successful partnerships that we have had in training officials in both Bahrain and Singapore, I am pleased that KARA and KAVO have recognised the extensive and professional service that CAMS and its Officials can deliver. This is truly an exciting partnership which reaffirms CAMS position as a leading FIA Regional Training Provider not only in our region but the world."

KARA and KAVO President Mr Yung Cho Chung reaffirmed Mr Papadopoulos' position by saying "this is a true partnership between our organisations. As an FIA Regional Training Provider, CAMS has a demonstrated knowledge and expertise that will not only assist us in building our long term capability and motor sport culture in Korea, but will ensure that we deliver the inaugural FORMULA 1 Korean Grand Prix in the only acceptable manner - the best! This will be an historic event for Korea and we have no doubt that the knowledge and experience that CAMS will provide will be of enormous assistance as we make this occasion a memorable one".

As a part of its role, CAMS will seek Expressions of Interest from CAMS Licenced Officials for a range of positions to be a part of the CAMS International Officials Team that will assume senior roles and provide the event management framework at the 2010 event. This is an outstanding development opportunity for all CAMS Licenced Officials and Staff and further enhances the partnership associated with this event.

Mr Papadopoulos added "Not only will this be an exciting opportunity for the largest number of CAMS accredited officials ever selected to attend an international event abroad, but it will also provide them with the opportunity to be part of the first ever FORMULA 1 Korean Grand Prix ."
