New Sponsors Help Drew Russell Continue in the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series

With a cloud hanging over Drew and the Novocastrian Motorsport team's ability to find the budget to compete in the remainder of the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series after the last round at Wakefield Park, a last minute deal with the Lencrow Group and Erect-A-Rack has secured his position on the grid for at least the next round.

The Lencrow Group is a privately owned company dedicated to providing materials handling solutions including the sales, service and hire of forklifts to industries and organisations throughout Australia.

Erect-A-Rack provides pallet racking and shelving solutions, maximising warehouse space.

After a two month break between rounds, Drew Russell's return to the track was a somewhat interrupted affair with both practice sessions effected by inclement weather and red flags.

Heavy rain fell over night and the first session began in damp conditions, with a dry line appearing towards the end of the session. The second session was effected by changeable weather conditions with light rain falling on and off during the session, track conditions were difficult.

Drew and the Novocastrian Motorsport team used both sessions to shakedown the car after the work that had been carried out on the car since Wakefield Park, including rebuilding and remapping the engine.

Finishing in 12th place in the second session was pleasing for both Drew and the team, with both now looking forward to qualifying tomorrow.
