Longest leg, shortest special stage - we avoided any risk
Today we drove the longest of all legs of this Transsyberia Rally, 983 kilometres from Kazan to Yekaterinburg. We crossed the Urals, so we left Europe and are now in Asia. It is a fascinating feeling to enter those great and endless stretches of lang, Siberia and Mongolia.
Powering through rough terrain: Cayenne S Transsyberia, 385hp
Today's special stage was the shortest of the rally, just ten kilometres. So Andi and I took no risk at all. On ten kilometres you would be able to win a few seconds, if at all. But you could easily lose the rally. The tracks were rough with water crossings, jumps, and very tough bumps and crests.
Today's results were not yet published, there seem to be some gremlins in the lines or satellite connections. Time for a sleep now, I'll be back here tomorrow with more news.
All the best,
Armin
