One day left to bid on Ride with Dale Jr. to benefit Hurricane Relief Efforts

MOORESVILLE, NC (September 29, 2005) -- With the deadline fast approaching, the online auction activity for three laps in a race car with Dale Earnhardt, Jr. has started to increase.

The final bids will be accepted on www.ebay.com until 8 p.m. (ET)/5 p.m. (PT) on Friday, September 30. The Dale Earnhardt Foundation and Wrangler have teamed to provide the highest bidder with a very unique opportunity.

After confirming the winning bid, that person will climb into the No. 8 Budweiser Chevrolet on Wednesday, October 26 with 2004 Daytona 500 champion Earnhardt, Jr. behind the wheel. They will take to the 1.5-mile oval of Lowe's Motor Speedway to benefit the American Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund.

"We had a dramatic increase in activity when initial bidding started last Friday," said Dick Baker, Executive Director of The Dale Earnhardt Foundation. "As expected, things slowed down during the week. But, with the deadline fast approaching we expect the bidding to get real interesting in the closing hours and minutes."

The winner and a guest will receive roundtrip airfare to Charlotte, NC, one night's accommodations and ground transportation. In addition to the Ride with Dale Jr. for the winner, they and their guest will also take part in the Richard Petty Rookie Driving Experience at Lowe's Motor Speedway that same day.

On Thursday, Oct. 27, they will head to Dale Earnhardt, Inc. for an exclusive behind the scenes tour of the team's headquarters in Mooresville, NC. They will also dine in the Trophy Room; the company's exclusive dining facility at DEI.

As of Thursday (Sept. 29) morning, the bidding had topped the $40,000 mark. Almost 45,000 visitors have checked out the online auction at www.ebay.com which can be found under Item No. 5255979027 on their website.
