NEWCOMERS TO THE JMB STRADALE OFF ROAD TEAM FOR THE 2010 DAKAR
The entry list of the JMB Stradale Off Road team is increasing for the 2010 Dakar by the addition of a fifth car with the Portuguese duo Miguel BARBOSA and Miguel RAMALHO. The team is now complete and an agreement has been made between Carlos SOUSA and the co-driver Matthieu BAUMEL.
The crews of the three first Racing Lancer vehicles entered into the 2010 Dakar remain the same: Guilherme SPINELLI - Filipe PALMEIRO, Orlando TERRANOVA - Pascal MAIMON, and Nicolas MISSLIN - Jean-Michel POLATO. The last 72 hours were hectic for the JMB Stradale team who demonstrated their motivation by finalizing the preparations on this 5th Racing Lancer before bringing it to Le Havre for boarding on the vessel leaving for Buenos Aires, Argentina. The technical team worked day and night to ensure that the racing vehicle could reach the port in time for the estimated departure of the vessel.
" I'm quite impressed, " explains the driver, Miguel Barbosa. "I was almost unable to participate in this Dakar but luckily for me I was supported by my sponsors as well as the JMB Stradale Off Road team. Also a big thank you to ASO, the organizer of this rally, for being patient! Everyone gave a hand to accomplish this feat! Working together and for the same objective is a good lesson in humanity. I'll be driving with Miguel Ramalho, my ever faithful co-driver, and we hope to have good results in order to honor the new JMB Stradale Off Road Company."
Carlos Sousa, the second Portuguese driver, paired up with the French co-driver, Matthieu Baumel: "I'm very proud to race with Carlos Sousa", comments Matthieu. "Even if we've never driven together, I'm convinced from what I've seen that he's a very talented driver. What a privilege to be in a Racing Lancer with Carlos who has neat and smooth driving methods. The knowhow of the Stradale Off Road Company gives me confidence concerning the reliability of the racing cars and will permit that we stay close to the factory cars."
On January 1st, the competitors of the 2010 Dakar will be on the starting line in Buenos Aires for 9030 km of racing on the Argentinean and Chilien soil. After 4810 km of timed specials on varied and technical grounds, the track comes back to Buenos Aires for the finish on January 17th.
