Romine to fly CARQUEST colors at CARQUEST Northern Nationals
STANTON, Mich. -- Aerolite Racing is proud to announce its Top Fuel Dragster driven by Paul Romine will be sponsored by CARQUEST Auto Parts at this weekend's 16th annual CARQUEST Northern Nationals presented by Dart Heads at the Mid- Michigan Motorplex. The race is the fifth of eight events on the IHRA Snap-on Tools Championship Drag Racing Series. Joining the CARQUEST colors on Romine's dragster will be Prolong Super Lubricants, who recently introduced its products in CARQUEST stores throughout Michigan. Romine, 50, is owner of Dealer Engine Sales of Indianapolis. This season he returned to the Top Fuel class after a 15 year absence from drag racing and won the season-opening IHRA Winter Nationals, recording the quickest time in IHRA history, a 4.855 second pass in the semi-finals. He is currently second in the IHRA Snap-on Tools Championship Drag Racing Series points chase, 100 points behind Shirley Muldowney. His Crew Chief, Clayton Harris, is a multi-time NHRA and IHRA national event winner as a driver and crew chief, and 1978 IHRA Top Fuel World Champion.
