Summer Sizzler results from Big River Sand Drags.
BONNE TERRE, Mo. -- (July 5-6, 2002) The Summer Sizzler at Big River Sand Drags lived up to its name as scorching hot temperatures and high humidities made for a long weekend of racing.
On Friday night an all ET show was held. In MSRA Class 1, Steve Barton of Bonne Terre drove his Open 4x4 style Jeep to a first place and top eliminator victories. John Dreher finished in second place.
In MSRA Class 2, Philip Beaird of St. Louis was the top eliminator and first place winner while Gladys Edwards of Bonne Terre finished in second place.
In the ATV classes, in Bracket 1, Matt Cunningham of Salem, Ill. was the top eliminator and first place winner while Donnie Burns of Bonne Terre finished in second place.
In Bracket 2, Dennis Godat finished in first place with Jason Waller "the Aztec Warrior" of Ste. Genevieve taking second place and the top eliminator race.
In Bracket 3, Sam Coleman of Mineral Point was the top eliminator and first place winner while Nathan Yates captured second place.
In Bracket 4, Levi Harris of Bonne Terre was the first place winner while Allie Glatczak of Potosi finished second and was the top eliminator.
In Junior ATV, Eric McCoy of Potosi was the first place winner while Cameron Coleman of Hillsboro finished second and was the top eliminator.
On Saturday, in Junior ATV, Garth Farris of Potosi was the first place winner with Cameron Coleman taking second place.
In ATV-1, Andrew Burcham finished first with William Sutton of Bonne Terre taking second and top eliminator.
In Pro ATV, Brandon Markus was the top eliminator and first place winner while Jimmy Farris of Potosi was second.
In Super Pro ATV, Blake Henderson captured first place while G.C. Matson finished second and was the top eliminator.
In Open 4x4, Tim Griffin was the first place winner while Bill Sutton of Bonne Terre finished in second place and was the top eliminator.
In Race Rail, Tim Dee of Bismarck finished in first place while Kenny Barbee of Poplar Bluff finished in second and was the top eliminator.
In Stock Buggy, Josh Harris of Belgrade was the first place and top eliminator winner while Ralph Smith finished in second place.
In Vehicle ET, Philip Beaird was the top eliminator and first place winner while Gladys Edwards finished in second place.
In Off Road Modified, Todd Dee of Leadwood was the top eliminator and first place winner while Wayne Harris of Belgrade captured second place. There will be no racing at Big River Sand Drags this Saturday, July 13th. That date has been moved to July 27th. The next racing date for BRSD is set for Saturday, July 20th.
