WHAT:
Team Werner/Lehman Racing will compete in its sixth IHRA event of 2003
this weekend at the ACDelco Canadian Nationals in Cayuga, Ontario.
WHO:
Clay Millican, the 2001 and 2002 IHRA World Top Fuel champion, will race
in the IHRA ACDelco Canadian Nationals on July 25-27 at the Toronto
Motorsports Park. Millican, the IHRA Top Fuel points leader, will be
going for his fifth victory of the season and his 25th career win, which
would put him in a first place tie on the IHRA career Top Fuel wins list
alongside legendary racer Don Garlits, who got his 25th victory in 1979.
In his last race, the Motor City Nationals in Milan, Mich., Millican defeated Bruce Litton for his fourth Top Fuel victory of the season. His only loss this season came at the Rocky Mountain Nationals in Edmonton, Alberta, where he lost to Litton in the finals. Prior to the race in Edmonton, Millican won the ACDelco Nationals in Richmond, Va., the Mopar Canadian Nationals in Grand Bend, Ontario, and the Amalie Texas Nationals in San Antonio, Texas, where he set a new IHRA Top Fuel record with an elapsed time of 4.591 seconds.
