Millican Looks to Continue Winning Streak at IHRA Rocky Mountain Nationals

Chicago - June 21, 2005 Clay Millican of Team Werner/Kenny Koretsky Motorsports will look to extend his 2005 IHRA winning streak to five at the Rocky Mountain Nationals in Edmonton, Alberta, on June 24-26 at the Budweiser Motorsports Park.

"I am really looking forward to testing the new track surface at Edmonton," said Millican. "We have been assured that we'll be in for a pleasant surprise as far as how great the track is! I'm very excited to race here since we did so well last year and set a new track E.T. record."

Millican, the 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004 IHRA Top Fuel Champion and winningest professional driver in the league's history, will look to build on his IHRA Top Fuel points lead and will attempt to get his 42nd career victory. Millican has won all four IHRA events that have taken place thus far in 2005, and currently holds a 161-point lead over his nearest competitor, Doug Foley.

In last year's Rocky Mountain Nationals, Millican defeated Edmonton native Terry Capp for his 35th career victory, and set a new track record in elapsed time with a pass at 4.575 seconds in the semi-final round of eliminations.

Millican and Team Werner's last IHRA event was the Mopar Canadian Nationals in Grand Bend, Ont., where they nabbed the number one qualifying spot and advanced to the finals against Canadian Todd Paton. Millican made the quickest pass of the weekend with an E.T. of 4.681 at 309.98 mph to Paton's 5.574 at 179.90 mph to clinch his 41st career victory, and fourth straight win of the season.

Along with his quest for a fifth consecutive IHRA Top Fuel Championship, Millican has also raced in four NHRA national events this season, with his best finish coming at the NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, Fla., where he advanced to the semi-finals. He plans to race in six more NHRA national events this season.
