LAS VEGAS -- Other Guys Motorsports, of Hemet, Calif., will present sand drag races at LVMS Jan. 11-13.
Over 1,800 tons of washed sand was transported to the race site -- located north of The Strip at LVMS -- to construct the unique 300-ft. strip.
Sand drag divisions competing this weekend will include: Top Fuel, A/Fuel, Top Eliminator, Pro One, Pro Two, Jeeps, Buggies, Pro Bike, Quads/Bikes, Juniors, Pee-Wee and Powder Puff.
This weekend's meet is expected to draw top names in Top Fuel sand drag racing, including Charlie Brown of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jim Hammond of Diamond Bar, Calif.
Test-and-tune sessions will begin on Thursday, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., and continue on Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Qualifying will commence at 8 a.m. on Saturday, with eliminations at 3 p.m.
Adults may gain access to test-and-tune sessions on Thursday and Friday for $5, with children free. Spectator admission for Saturday is $10 for adults and $5 for children.
