WHAT TO EXPECT: Antioch resident Rick Santos is on fire again this season with a commanding lead in both Division 7 and the national points standings. With one more win, Santos will become the winningest driver in the 19-year history of the series. This season, Santos has three consecutive wins in Division 7 competition. He is also the defending two-time Festival of Fire champion, as well as the defending three-time national and Division 7 champion. Other pilots to watch at this event include: Larry Miner, John Weaver, Kyle Seipel, and Tony DeFrank.
IN ADDITION: This weekend will also feature the North Bay's largest fireworks show, a country barbecue with live music, an explosive jet car exhibition, and Bill Reesman's "MiG-17 Meteor" jet, the world's only night aerobatic, pyro jet-fighter act. Before the fireworks begin, fans will witness 6,000-horsepowered jet cars roar down the drag strip, while Reesman will light up the sky twice on Saturday with one show in the afternoon and another in the twilight hours. This flame-throwing, aerobatic exhibition will be an exciting preview to the "Pyro Spectacular" fireworks show. The 30-minute fireworks show will begin around 9:15 p.m. on Saturday. The best view for the show is from Turn 2.
