SHREVEPORT - Saturday Schedule Shuffled Wet Grounds Force Schedule Changes by Larry Sullivan SHREVEPORT, La. - SUMMIT FastNews - Friday's rain turned the 1998 IHRA World Finals Saturday event schedule into a theoretical exercise in wishful thinking. The unpaved areas at Red River Raceway are very soggy this morning, making the movement of race cars impossible in a large part of the Sportsman pit area. Early arrivals found a dry racing surface, but nothing could get there to race. In order to give the Sportsman pits a chance to dry, the first Professional session today has been moved forward an hour and will start at 11 AM (CDT), followed by the first Saturday session for Sportsman competitors. The "Night of Fire" Professional session will start early, followed by the second Sportsman session. The Sunoco Pro Stock Showdown will be run as scheduled, during the first Pro session and the "Night of Fire." The first round of the Holley Rod Runoffs will follow the second Sportsman session and the Holbrook Tools Top Sportsman Quick 8 will run as scheduled, during the "Night of Fire," but based on just the first two rounds of Top Sportsman qualifying. As always, this schedule is subject to change at Mother Nature's whim. Results provided by the FastNews Network, courtesy of Summit Racing Equipment ** http://www.summitracing.com/ **
