WAYNE, N.J., June, 4, 2012 – Hankook driver Chris Forsberg landed a second place finish at round 3 of the 2012 Formula Drift season this past weekend at Palm Beach International Raceway in Palm Beach, Florida. Starting off in top 32, Forsberg raced his Hankook Nissan 370Z against Corey Hosford and his Nissan 350Z, advancing to top 16 against Toshiki Yoshioka in his Nissan Silvia S15. After beating Yoshioka, Forsberg lined up against Kenneth Moen in his Nissan 350Z, outdriving Moen and setting up his next battle against Daijiro Yoshihara and his Nissan 240sx.

The Final Battle pitted Forsberg against Daigo Saito for a head-to head drift match that found Forsberg grabbing second place and earning his first podium of the season.

“I’m very happy with our second place finish this weekend,” said Forsberg. “The consistency of our Hankook Ventus R-S3 tires throughout the weekend during track and climate changes is what allowed us to reach the finals! We look forward to carrying this momentum to the next round in Wall, New Jersey!”

Forsberg and his Hankook Tire racing teammates compete on Hankook’s Ventus R-S3 Extreme Performance Summer tire. Developed for serious sports car, sports coupe and performance sedan enthusiasts the Ventus R-S3 offers drivers looking for outstanding race tire-like traction on the street or for use in autocross, drifting or track events. Forsberg’s second place podium finish puts him in sixth place overall in the Formula Drift championship standings.

“I couldn’t be happier for Chris and his podium finish,” said Hankook motorsports marketing manager Paul Jho. “Our Hankook team drivers really pushed their cars and Ventus R-S3 tires this weekend. It shows how dedicated our drivers are and the performance our Ventus R-S3 provides them.”
