Luca Ludwig is German GT Champion
GT3 Germany: Luca Ludwig is the 2010 German GT Champion. The 21-year-old is the first title winner of the German Championship that was announced by the DMSB for the first time this year. The title for drivers of GT3 vehicles combines existing racing events of the ADAC GT Masters, Endurance Championship and 24-hour race Nurburgring into one series of events. At the finale of the VLN Endurance Championship at the Nurburgring on October 30 Ludwig, who had won three rounds of the ADAC GT Masters in an Audi R8 LMS of Team ABT Sportsline and clinched third place in the 24-hour race at the Nurburgring in the R8 LMS of the Phoenix Racing team, will be out of reach by his rivals.
Audi drivers win at Monza
GT3 Italy: The season finale of the Italian GT Championship at Monza was successful for the Audi drivers Rinaldo Capello and Gianluca Giraudi. In round one the duo clinched victory on the tradition-steeped circuit in the Audi R8 LMS fielded by Audi Sport Italia; in round two they finished third. Their team colleagues Marco Bonanomi and Felipe Albuquerque managed the leap onto the podium in the first race as well with a third-place finish. In the second race they came fourth and secured second place in the overall GT3 standings.
Gebrauchtwagen:plus day with Timo Scheider
DTM: The two-time DTM Champion Timo Scheider was the star and special guest at a Gebrauchtwagen:plus day at the Audi Center Hofheim on Saturday. The Audi "factory" driver was busy writing autographs and chauffeured guests around a blocked off road around the Audi Center in an Audi S4 race taxi featuring the livery of his DTM car.
Audi wins Slot Car Championship
RCCO: For the second time in a row Audi has won the drivers' classification of the rallye racing Carrera Cup. The Slot Car Championship of the RCCO celebrated its 20th anniversary at the Prototype Museum in Hamburg last Wednesday. The more than 120 guests included Audi "factory" driver Mike Rockenfeller who was the best rookie in the field of the professional slot car racers at the "AutoBild motorsport Indoor-Rallye powered by Schaeffler" and by finishing the race in 19th place in a field of 37 entrants achieved a more than respectable result at the controls of an Audi R8 LMS.
