110,000 spectators at DTM presentation

DTM: With the sun shining bright and in summer temperatures 110,000 spectators witnessed the presentation of the 2010 DTM which was staged in Wiesbaden for the first time. Despite airports being shut down the Audi squad turned out in full force for the presentation. In order to arrive in Wiesbaden on time, the two-time DTM Champion Mattias Ekstrom took it upon himself to embark on a 13-hour trip from Sweden by car. Newcomer Miguel Molina was on the road traveling to Germany from his native Spain for a similar period of time. The DTM season will start at the Hockenheimring next weekend.

DTM Champion drives Audi R8 Spyder

DTM: Timo Scheider traveled to the DTM presentation in Wiesbaden in a very special vehicle. The reigning DTM Champion treated himself to a white Audi R8 Spyder. The Audi "factory" driver had picked up the car at the Audi Forum Ingolstadt on Thursday and was as happy as a child about his new 386-kW "toy."

Podium position for the R8 LMS at Valencia

International GT Open: The German Phoenix Racing team clinched third place in the GT3 class in Sunday's race of the International GT Open season opener at Valencia (Spain). Marcel Tiemann and Jim Matthews had started to the rain race from the pole position and defended their lead for a long time, dropping to third only in the second half of the race. In the first race on Saturday the German-American pairing achieved fourth position.

Mattias Ekstrom's Junior team will contest the Swedish Junior Touring Car Championship with three vehicles this year ... In parallel to the DTM presentation the Ninteno Team Scheider contested the first race weekend at Kerpen. Seven drivers between the ages of eight and 16 are part of the DTM Champion's Junior Kart team ... Next Saturday the first race of the Audi race experience Team Joest with the Audi R8 LMS in the VLN Endurance Championship at the Nurburgring will be on the agenda. One of the drivers will be Le Mans winner Marco Werner.
