Rosenqvist, 24, had made his DTM debut behind the wheel of a Mercedes-AMG C63 at Moscow Raceway earlier this year, replacing F1-bound Esteban Ocon.

Having also raced in the DTM round at the Nurburgring, the Swede, who has one point-scoring finish to his name, will complete his first part-time campaign in the series with outings at the Hungaroring (September 24-25) and Hockenheim (October 15-16).

"Felix has shown a very strong performance in the last four races and even exceeded our expectations," said Mercedes DTM boss Ulrich Fritz.

"Therefore, we decided to also let him compete in the remaining DTM races this season. He has definitely earned it."

Between the Hungaroring and Hockenheim rounds, Rosenqvist will wrap up his Blancpain Sprint campaign in Barcelona and will then make his Formula E debut with Mahindra in the season three opener in Hong Kong.

"I'm pleased with today's confirmation of my continued DTM race programme," Rosenqvist said.

"My first two weekends in the championship have been promising and I look forward to building on that in Budapest and Hockenheim.

"They are two tracks I enjoy, and I know from my past in F3 that the Hockenheim finale is a huge event. It will be particularly thrilling to be a part of that as a Mercedes-AMG DTM driver."
