QUIFEL-ASM Team starts Le Mans Series with high expectations

The Quifel-ASM Team is due this weekend to launch its participation in the Le Mans Series, on the Barcelona track. The aim of the Portuguese team is to reach the podium in all of the championship's races, including the legendary Le Mans 24 hours.

Tests on the Barcelona track are scheduled for 3rd April, 4th April has been set aside for qualification and the first race of the Le Mans Series Championship will be on Sunday.

The Quifel-ASM Team's expectations for the season are quite ambitious. The Portuguese team decided to buy a new car, the Ginnetta-Zytek 09s, with the aim of being amongst the top runners in the LMP2 class. Official tests far exceeded forecast targets, with the Quifel ASM Team's Ginnetta-Zytek 09s managing to be the fastest car in the LMP2 class.

Preparation of the Ginnetta-Zytek 09s included a new engine that will be used in Barcelona and at SPA, a new aerodynamics kit and new paintwork. After training at Paul Ricard, the team studied all the collected data in order to prepare the car for the first race in Barcelona.

Miguel Pais do Amaral, Quifel ASM Team's own Gentleman Driver said that "the preparation of the Ginnetta-Zytek 09s in the pre-season was very objective and made it possible to develop the car in a way that gives us the confidence to achieve quite tangible results in the Le Mans Series."
