The Scuderia Ecosse team arrives in Italy this week for round two of the 2005 Le Mans Endurance Series. After a non-finish in round one at Spa the team is keen for a good result at Monza.

FIRST TIME OUT FOR ANDREW KIRKALDY
Andrew Kirkaldy, although a veteran of most circuits, has never raced at Monza before. Luckily he's a quick learner and a walk-through on Thursday afternoon will tell him everything he needs to know about the Italian track.

"Monza isn't completely new to me; I've seen many races there and my Formula Renault team ran there last year. The track looks great. We'll run the car in its low downforce configuration of which we had plenty of experience at Le Mans. Michelotto have obviously run a fair few Ferraris at Monza so they will have all the answers on set-up. The bottom line is that we are racing a Ferrari at Monza so we have to be good! There's no way we can let a Porsche win in Italy!"

NATHAN KINCH READY FOR THE CHALLENGES OF MONZA
Nathan Kinch is keen to return to Monza where he has tasted success before.

"Jamie Campbell-Walter and I were third at Monza in the Lister in 2003 so I have good memories of this track. I love the circuit, it's very fast, and I especially enjoy the Parabolica. Monza is very tough on brakes but that is one of our strong points so we have every reason to expect a good result. We're aware that the track also suits the Porsches though so it's not going to be easy. If its Italy and its July it's a safe bet it'll be very hot so it will be a good fitness test for myself and Andrew."

ABOUT MONZA
The Autodromo Nationale di Monza is the home of the Italian Grand Prix and the spiritual home of the 'tifosi', Ferrari's fanatical supporters. Situated on the outskirts of Milan, Monza is a classic racing circuit steeped in rich motorsport history of great races run and great drivers lost.

The locals call it "La Pista Magica" which translates into "The Magical Track", capturing the unique atmosphere of the circuit.

Monza remains one of the fastest circuits in Europe and is particularly hard on brakes. Cars run in their lowest aerodynamic trim to maximise speed on the long straights but drivers have to work extra hard to control them through the corners.

The '1000kms of Monza' begins at 1230hrs on Sunday but the teams will be on track from Friday lunchtime for the first free practice session of the weekend.
