This summer is a busy one for Le Mans Series. Nurburgring in July, Donington at the end of August: endurance racing follows its course on the European circuits after an exceptional Le Mans 24 Hours.

A turning point in the 24H history: the Audi R10 grants Diesel power its first victory. As David against Goliath, Pescarolo, took a well-deserved second place in the "LM"P1 class.

Other protagonists of the series battled hard on the Sarthe track-- RML & Binnie, respectively 3rd & 2nd in the "LM"P2 category at Le Mans, were overtaken by Barazi in the Series.

3rd at the 24H and 3rd of the Series: 3 seems to be Luc Alphand's lucky number in "LM"GT1!

While the "LM" GT2 podium at the 24H was Panoz (LNT celebrating the American manufacturer's 10th participation with a first victory in class), Porsche (Seikel) and Ferrari (Scuderia Ecosse which is not running in the Le Mans Series this year). On the other hand the series' winning trio is Porsche (Autorlando), Panoz (LNT) & Porsche (Imsa Performance).

A first for the Le Mans Series in Donington--

After its first two editions in Silverstone, the British round of the series will be hosted by Donington this year.

Inaugurated in 1931 in the core of a hilly landscape 40 km north of Birmingham, the Donington Park track runs just 2.5 miles since the creation of the "Melbourne" curve in 1985. It offers a well appreciated and spectacular layout.

As in past editions, many British teams wish to run their home race. But the number of entries already exceeds the hosting capacity of the track. A difficult selection has then to be made! Furthermore, the candidates' list comprises new participants such as RJN Motorsport with the first homologated Nissan 350Z and Lavaggi with the new LS1. More to come!

A great success is to be expected for this round, which will probably be as full in the paddocks as in the grandstands.

Donington should not be missed: a race for the title in every category!

A race under the sun at the Nurburgring--

The Nurburgring-- A name and a place which both personify endurance racing's history over the past 50 years. If the Nordschleife (the famous north curve) is no longer the setting of the 1000km races, the Grand Prix layout remains very selective and deeply tainted with history.

First race after the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 1000 km of Nurburgring have confirmed Pescarolo Sport's status of favourite and the French team is almost certain to win the "LM"P1 title, while anything remains open in the other categories.

A well-remarked performance was achieved by Creation Autosportif: third pole, Nicolas Minassian even beating his own track time!

Success of the 24 Hours and increasing revival of endurance racing forecast a long-term development--

Series Classification after the 3rd round
Pescarolo is very close to his second title. Elsewhere, the suspense remains until the end of the season.
