Yelloly, who was announced earlier this month as partner to Simon Dolan and Filip Albuquerque, has left the team with immediate effect with his replacement set to be announced within the next week.
“Unfortunately Nick [Yelloly] is not now part of JOTA Sport’s 2015 plans,” said Jota boss Sam Hignett. “Since our announcement earlier this month it transpires conflicting elements and commitments mean it's best we go our separate ways with immediate effect.”
It is not known what the other commitments for Yelloly are at this stage. The 24 year-old was adamant in the announcement of his drive with Jota that he was now pursuing an endurance career, saying: “Sportscars will be my only programme this year and the decision was very simple.
"The sportscar category is now getting much bigger compared to some top-line single-seater categories; the racing intrigues me having to master new skills from almost continuous overtaking to fuel saving, and who could turn down competing at Le Mans."
Dolan and Albuquerque head to Paul Ricard as Jota’s scheduled drivers but Motorsport.com understands that Harry Tincknell will test with his former team this week at Paul Ricard. The recently announced Nissan driver is not believed to be in the frame to replace Yelloly for the Silverstone ELMS race next month.
