Charouz team improved gradually
A methodical work with the aim to find the best possible setup for Sonday's race that was the main job of the Charouz Racing System team in both today's practices at Spa-Francorchamps. The Aston Martin powered LMP1 prototype driven by Jan Charouz and Stefan Mucke improved its speed continuously. The team finished sixth in the second session. The team have another free practice tomorrow that will be followed by the qualifying for the third race of the Le Mans Series season.
The Czech-German duo set 2:06.317 in the first practice and improved to 2:03.957 in the second one when the time set Jan Charouz. The team is now focused on the last practice and subsequent qualifying.
Antonin Charouz, Team principal: "Everything went well according to our plan and our best lap time today is not bad. I think that we still have a room for an improvement and I am confident that we will be even quicker tomorrow. The important thing is, however, a good setup for the race which will be quite long as usual. That was our focus today and we will continue in it also in the last free practice tomorrow."
