Quifel ASM Team secures place in second line of grid

The Quifel ASM Team's qualifying session at Spa Francorchamps, gave the team the forth best time. The second race in the Le Mans Series Championship began yesterday with free training sessions in the rain, which were interrupted several times, thus affecting the tuning of the cars. This morning the Portuguese team, driven by Miguel Pais do Amaral and Olivier Pla, had some difficulty adapting the car to the Belgian circuit, also because of red flags, which made it impossible to clock a better time than 2:08:85 in the LMP2 Class.

The Zytek 09, came in just one hundredth of a second behind the Lola Judd. In the warm up session tomorrow that Quifel ASM Team plans to better adapt the car to the Belgian track, in order to win a place on the race's podium.

Miguel Pais do Amaral said he was happy with the performance in the free training: "Taking 2.5 seconds off my time from last year shows the quality of the Zytek 09. This car's performances have been very good.

Olivier Pla, who raced in this morning's qualification, is equally happy: "The car is very fast and the time difference in relation to the Lola Judd's was very small. We opted for harder tyres, similar to those for the race, and that makes it possible to adapt the car to the conditions we will have in the race."

"The unstable weather conditions don't help any of the teams. We are very confident of a good result of these 1000 kms," said Antonio Simões, Director of the Quifel ASM Team.
