Spa: Series Friday practice report

Free practice session: Oreca & Peugeot...in the thousandth near!

We promised you some surprises for the week-end...you know that we never lie! The proof is that, from the first free practice session, the results are...amazing. The Oreca AIM no.11, driven by Olivier Panis and Nicolas Lapierre, scored the exact same time as the Peugeot no.9 (with Marc Gene, Alexander Wurz and David Brabham) in the thousandth near!

It is the Peugeot's come back in Le Mans Series for this season, and to celebrate that, the French manufacturer scored the best time. But, and it is very rare, it scored the exact same time as the Oreca, in the thousandth near (2:06.740). Of course, we are only speaking about the free practice session, and this one was unsetlled by two red flags (one after that the Aston Martin no.007 stopped on the track with Darren Turner on the wheel, one after that Jose Ibanez went out of the track with his Courage LC75 Ibanez Racing Service. The rain was also the troublemaker of this session.

In LMP2, RML achieved the best lap, in front of the Team Barazi Epsilon and Quifel ASM Team. In LMGT1, at the moment, the IPB Spartak Racing's Lamborghini is the better on the Belgian track, whereas in LMGT2, the FBR's Ferrari F430 GT was the best in the second near from the Hankook Team Farnbacher's one.
