Golden autumn for Callaway Competition

Callaway successful in Germany, the Netherlands and Dubai.

Leingarten, 05.11.2009. Callaway Competition finished the 2009 in style with a very successful autumn. At the German ADAC GT Masters final round at Oschersleben, Callaway Competition won the team championship, while on the same weekend, the Callaway customer team TAM Engineering celebrated victory in the inaugural round of the UAE GT championship in Dubai. Also the first season of the Dutch GT4-championship ended successful for Callaway Competition. The Callaway built Corvette C6 GT4 was the most victorious car in the Netherlands. A very success debut of the Corvette C6 GT4 on the legendary Nurburgring-Nordschleife concluded a great season for Callaway Competition.

Corvette C6 GT4 attacks the Nurburgring-Nordschleife

In the last two rounds of the German endurance championship at the Nurburgring, the Callaway built Corvette C6 GT4 debuted on the legendary 25km long Nordschleife. Both 4-hour long races brought a second place finish in the class for GT4-cars. The Corvette finished both races on the scenic track without any problems, in the final race of the season the trio Arno Klasen/ Tobias Guttroff/ Jens Richter (D) finished in 35 position out of 186 competitors. "We used in both races tyres from the European championship, which are not a perfect fit for the Nordschleife", Callaway Competition principal Ernst Wohr explained. "But the two trouble free races already showed the big potential of our C6 GT4 on the Nordschleife."

"We raced in the GT4-European championship and in the two 4 hour races on the Nordschleife with the very same drive train, which proved to be very reliable. Our GT4-Corvette proved to be a perfect customer car, easy to handle and terrifically reliable."

Callaway Competition wins ADAC GT Masters team championship

The Corvette Z06.R GT3, developed and built by Callaway Competition in Germany, was hard to beat in this years German ADAC GT masters championship. With a total of four victories, Callaway Competition won the team championship against the Audi-DTM-Teams Abt und Phoenix, and was also the team that scored the most victories of the season. Marc Hennerici and Luca Ludwig, son of touring car legend Klaus Ludwig, finished an almost perfect season in Germany for Callaway as runner up, whilst Toni Seiler took honours in the gentlemen drivers' championship. "It can barely be better", Callaway team principal Ernst Wohr was pleased with the season in Germany. "After a great season in the ADAC GT Masters, winning the team championship is a well deserved reward for the entire team."

Corvette victorious in Dubai

The youngest customer team of Callaway Competition, House of Portiers/TAM Engineering had a perfect start in the inaugural round of the UAE GT championship in Dubai. With the latest Corvette Z06.R GT3, built by Callaway Competition in Germany, Karim Al-Azhari scored a pole position and a victory in the first race of the new championship at the Dubai Autodrome.

Corvette C6 GT4 the most successful car in "Dutch GT4"

The Callaway built Corvette C6 GT4 was also successful in the inaugural season of the Dutch GT4. In the 20 races of the newly established Dutch championship, the Corvette C6 GT4 scored not less then seven victories, more than any other car. Jeroen Bleekemolen won four times, Danny van Dongen was two times successful and Henry Zumbrink secured one win. In the drivers championship, Bleekemolen finished fifth, just ahead of Danny van Dongen.
