Since 2004, Classic Endurance Racing organises races for the cars which wrote endurance racing history. Run within the Le Mans Series calendar, the C.E.R enhances these 3-day meetings dedicated to endurance motor racing.

Let's remind that Classic Endurance Racing, which selection if the same as the one of Le Mans Classic grid 5 and 6, echoes the most famous endurance race, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but also the World Sportscar Championship which had seen its pinnacle during sixties and seventies with the renowned "1000 kilometers" of Spa or Nurburgring... That revives today with the Le Mans Series meetings. We've come full circle!

After the big Spa meeting in May, the competitors will tread the Portuguese soil for the first time in the history of the series and discover the brand new ultramodern Algarve circuit. The regulars, used to the Spa, Nurburgring, Barcelona and other Silverstone tracks, have signed up for this third race of the season and no less than 51 cars will be on the starting line, Saturday at 2 pm.

On the track, Jean-Marc Luco will be more motivated than ever to continue his victorious results, started in Barcelona and continued at Spa behind the wheel of his now famous Porsche 936. But right behind him, the battle rages on and Michel Quiniou, Olivier Cazalières and Jacques Nicolet, regularly present on the early season podiums, can still aspire to the title.

The "regional racers" should not be ignored, amongst them, Carlos Barbot back in the CER with a Lola 3L, much awaited by car and prize winner enthusiasts or Fernando Espirito Santo, driving a 1979 BMW M1, in front of his public.
