The FALKEN Motorsports Team has confirmed that its 2011 campaign will comprise five racing events at the Nurburgring.

The FALKEN Motorsports Team has confirmed that its 2011 campaign will comprise five racing events at the Nurburgring. Using the firm's new "company car" - a Porsche 911 GT3 R, the team's season will kick off at the beginning of April at the first of the VLN long distance races.

The Japanese tyre specialist's commitment to take in a comprehensive season at the challenging Nurburgring's Nordschleife underlines FALKEN's growing European focus, both on the road and track. FALKEN will use the preceding VLN rounds to gain more understanding of the team's new Porsche as well as continue to refine the race tyres for one of the world's most challenging circuits , a track where the firm already has a long and successful history.

"We have been closely associated with the Nurburgring as both a sponsor and competitor in the 24h race since 1999," says Satoru Ushida, FALKEN Marketing's Director, outlining the company's commitment to motor sports. "The name of the Nurburgring's Nordschleife resounds in the ears of motor sports fans all over the world. We are proud that, using our expertise and experience of this demanding track, our tyres are truly at home at a venue that is a benchmark for race and road performance. Experience gained at the VLN races is a key part of our extensive preparations for the 24h race and our ongoing tyre development."
