The FIA GT is finally about to come to its top event, the 24 Hours of Spa, sixth round of 2007. Driving the Vitaphone #2 Maserati, Christian Montanari is ready to get under the spotlights and fight for victory. The driver from San Marino is entering his second seasonal 24 Hours, after finishing sixth overall in this February's Rolex 24 at Daytona. Anyway, the atmosphere that reigns on the Belgian racetrack is completely different, as with its fast corners, framed by real woods, and with a constantly-changing weather, Spa keeps presenting itself like a living and breathing organism. Montanari will be paired by his regular team-mate Miguel Ramos, as well as 2004 World Champion Matteo Bobbi and Stephane Lemeret. After the traditional parade, that will let the fans take direct contact with drivers and cars, the race program is starting on Thursday, with Free Practice and the night Qualifying sessions. The race will take off on Saturday, July 28, at 16:00.

"This is my first experience in a 24-hour race at Spa; the racetrack is fantastic, and I already raced there with the World Series Renault open-wheel cars. For us, is a crucial event because points are awarded at different times, not only for the final classification, but also at a 6-hour and 12-hour distance. The race itself will be extremely long and challenging, and almost certainly conditioned by the weather. When it rains, you have to keep the maximum concentration, because sometimes the wet and the general conditions are different from corner to corner, especially at night. It's a fascinating race under any aspect, including pit-stop strategy. I really can't wait for it..."
