Next year’s event will mark the second visit to Mount Panorama for the Radical Australia Cup, with the Le Mans-style sports racers adding to the 12 Hour’s international flavour. Both V8 and four-cylinder-powered cars will be eligible.
“The Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour is a rapidly growing international event and we are very pleased to be involved again,” Radical Australia’s Greg Smith said.
“Much like a majority of the cars that compete in the 12 Hour itself, Radicals represent an international style of racing and are perfectly suited to Mount Panorama.
“Not only do our drivers and teams love the circuit, but they love the atmosphere around the event as well.
“The 12-Hour has become a major drawcard and we will be bringing a great field to Bathurst next February to put on a show.”
Improved Production, meanwhile, has confirmed that it will return to Bathurst with a 55-car capacity grid, as has the new ‘Combined Sedans’ class that will pit Sports Sedans and old V8 Supercars together in a battle of the ‘Big Bangers’.
“The response to the category has been very encouraging and we’ve already got a full grid of 55 cars confirmed,” said racer and Category Administrator Steve Lacey.
“We will have a full field of very competitive cars on the grid and the support from all parties, including CAMS and the Bathurst 12 Hour organisers, has been fantastic.”
