Quierschied, 04.08.2010. [VLN] Christian Hohenadel (33, Quierschied/D) used the summer break in the FIA GT3-European Championship to race on the fabulous Nuerburgring-Nordschleife. Hohenadel started in the 6-hour race last weekend, the season highlight of the German Endurance Championship Nuerburgring (VLN), in a Porsche 911 GT3 R entered by Manthey Racing, the premier Porsche team on the Nordschleife. The Championship leader of the FIA GT3-European Championship shared the GT3-Porsche with recent Le Mans 24 winner and Porsche factory driver Timo Bernhard and Nordschleife ace Arno Klasen.

"I have a lot of respect for the Nordschleife and also for the GT3-Porsche before the race", Hohenadel said. „I know the Nordschleife and I have also raced Porsche, but in the combination with the fastest Porsche out there, it took me to a entirely new dimension. The most important thing for me was to bring the car home in one piece, be as quick as possible and to learn as much as possible."

After two laps in Friday's free test, Hohenadel drove another two in Saturday's qualifying. In the race, Hohenadel drove eights lap on the 24,4 km long track. After a early lead in the race of the yellow and green Manthey-Porsche, the trio of Hohenadel/Bernhard/Klasen finished in excellent second place, only 22,8 seconds behind the winning car after six hours of racing. The race was won by another Manthey-Porsche entry, a 911 GT3 R driven by Christian Menzel and Lance-David Arnold.

After his first overall podium finish on the Nordschleife, Hohenadel was satisfied with his race. "In my stint, I raced against Lance-David, who is considered as one of the quickest drivers in the team at the Nordschleife and my lap times where really close to his." Usually Hohenadel races a Corvette in the FIA GT3-European Championship and in the ADAC GT Masters, so the Porsche was a new territory for the 33-year old German. "The Porsche makes awfully lot of fun on the Nordschleife and is unbelievable quick trough the corners. I was really surprised how fast I could go in certain places on the Nordschleife. In some corners, you really feel the concept of the car with the engine behind you, but I must say a big compliment to Manthey Racing how perfect the Porsche is adapted to the Nordschleife."

The resume on the first race with Manthey Racing on the Nordschleife turned out to be a very positive one for Christian Hohenadel. "Manthey Racing is a great team, the team work was very good. With Timo and Arno, I had had two super quick team colleagues. I 'm quite satisfied with my first race on the Nordschleife in a GT3-Porsche and I have to say a huge thank you to Olaf Manthey for giving me the chance to race in one of his cars."
