Well, what to say about the 2026 Singapore Grand Prix? I'm reminded of 2018, which was such a bore that I'd filed my report before the cool-down lap had finished.

Lewis Hamilton apologised to his team on the radio during his slow-down lap, taking responsibility for the strategy. We can surmise he overruled a call to pit under the VSC, but that's one for the track team to put to him and Fred Vasseur in the next hour or so.
Lewis likes to go for a shower after the race so he's usually last to arrive in the 'pen', much to the chagrin of waiting journalists since this then clashes with the team principal press conferences (feel free to play the smallest violin in the world).
In other news nobody cares about, as with Monza, the old media centre has now been co-opted for hospitality so the scribes are stuck in a windowless room somewhere.

Had that VSC ended 30s later, the world championship battle might have rolled on a bit longer. But, even though Red Bull is on the up, Antonelli is well on course to put this to bed in Austin.

So your top 10 is Verstappen, Leclerc, Antonelli, Norris, Piastri, Hamilton, Lawson, Hulkenberg, Russell, Hadjar.

"A good race," says Leclerc, "We were just not fast enough. Good call for the strategy, at least we tried something different."

So it's a second consecutive victory for Max Verstappen - and, remarkably, his first in Singapore. Leclerc is second, 7.335s down, with Antonelli a further 17.238s back in third.
That puts Antonelli in mathematical contention to secure the championship next time around.
"Mmmmmnnnfffff crackle mnnnfffnnnnfff" says Verstappen over the radio, which we'll interpret as "Simply lovely."

Norris asking if he can help "behind" given that he doesn't have a chance of catching the cars ahead. That's a helping hand for Piastri on Hamilton, of course.
But he's told to push on and get within 5s of Antonelli - who is being serenaded on the radio by 'Bono': "Track limits, track limits, track limits."

GP is expressing his concerns to Verstappen about what might happen if there is a late-race safety car; he doesn't fancy the chances on those tyres at a restart, but pitting would put Max behind Leclerc.
"Mmmmmnnnnffffff fff mmmmffnnfffnsmmff" comes the response.

Whether Bottas is 19th or 21st, or both at the same time, he's still circulating slower than his team-mate, who could conceivably lap him in this race.

"Why is the leaderboard showing Bottas in both 19th and 21st?" asks Lotus109. A very good question! But one for Erwin Schrodinger rather than a humble non-coding reporter perhaps.
