Promoted: How Abu Dhabi offers some of the best views in F1

The world’s only twilight race returns to the Yas Marina Circuit. After a decade on the F1 calendar, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has established itself as the season finale. With time running out to secure a seat at the showdown and packages starting from £999, this is a race you won’t want to miss out.

Up close to the action
The Yas Marina is built to thrill. With the longest straight in F1 drivers can hit a top speed of 320km/h (199mph). Hairpin turns, especially the infamous Turn 7, challenge drivers’ reaction time and provide exciting overtaking opportunities.

Getting up close to the high-powered action is a must. Fortunately, the Yas Marina grandstands are built close to the track for a front-row seat to the drama. The two best spots to capture the action are the West Grandstand and the North Grandstand. The former is considered to be the best grandstand. It offers a close-up view of the best overtaking spot in the circuit: Turns 8 and 9, and was also the scene of Nico Hulkenberg's dramatic rollover in the 2018 race.

The North Grandstand wraps around Turn 7 to offer a panoramic view of the cars as they attack the hairpin. Watch drivers shift gears instantaneously to corner the turn before speeding off to the main straight. The grandstand also provides easy access to the after-race concerts at the Du Arena if you want to keep the party going.

Off-track thrills
The adrenaline spills beyond the Yas Marina Circuit and onto Yas Island. The man-made island has earned a reputation as the adrenaline junkie’s playground with its huge theme parks.

There’s Ferrari World Abu Dhabi to fuel your need for speed. Home to the world’s fastest roller coaster, the Formula Rossa gets your pulse racing with its recording-breaking speed of 240km/h (149mph).

Feel like making a splash? There’s Yas Waterworld. With 43 rides to choose from, this water park will leave you whooping with exhilaration, especially when you spin down the world’s first and largest hydro-magnetic-powered tornado water slide.

If you want to take on bigger thrills, the massive Empty Quarter dunes present an awesome driving challenge. Get together a group of thrill-seekers, rent a couple of four-wheel drive and set out to bash the dunes. It’s an adventure of a lifetime.

This is just a slice of the action to fire up your F1 weekend. There is so much more Abu Dhabi has to offer. Access them at incredible discounted rates with your Etihad Airways boarding pass.

Pack your bags. Choose to turbocharge your Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend with Etihad Airways’ F1 Packages starting from £999. Package includes flights, hotels, 2-day F1 tickets for Saturday and Sunday races, and access to after-race concerts. Book now at etihad.com/AbuDhabiGP.
