Austria is not always a happy hunting ground for Hamilton and his good qualifying effort was undermined by a grid penalty for impeding Raikkonen in Q1. Ran third in the first stint but ran wide exiting Turn 10, which forced a stop for a new front wing and relegated him to fifth. Picked up a place when Vettel made a second stop.

VERDICT: Did what he could in qualifying and was limited by cooling troubles in the race, but the impeding incident and the wing-damaging error made it an unusually scruffy weekend.
