BAR's engineering director and chief designer leave team

After three months of leadership under Team Principal, David Richards, a detailed and extensive review of the team has been completed.

As a result of this study a new structure is to be implemented with immediate effect, and will give clearer lines of reporting, more focused accountability and an overall leaner organisation.

Malcolm Oastler - Engineering Director and Andy Green - Chief Designer are both leaving the team. In total there is likely to be a reduction of some 15% of the workforce at the Brackley based team.

David Richards commented: "I have the greatest respect for the people who created this team, and the dedication they have shown to the task, but at the end of the day the organisation has not delivered. I know that Malcolm and Andy recognise that the results have been below their expectations and I appreciate their disappointment, and thank them for their efforts."

Ian Ross - Chief Operating Officer, who has been working with David Richards to effect a smooth transition, has decided it is an appropriate time to hand over his responsibilities to the new management team.
