Day two of the Barcelona test for the Formula One teams saw four additional teams take to the Circuit de Catalunya. Yesterday, only Williams, McLaren, BAR Honda, and Jaguar were out on track with leading the way for fast time.
Today, Sauber, Ferrari, Renault, and Toyota joined the four teams under cloudy, wet, dry and wet again conditions. Before the early rains came, McLaren driver David Coulthard set the fastest time and after putting 60 laps down; many in wet conditions, kept the fast time of the day.
Ralf Schumacher in a Williams was second fastest with Pedro de la Rosa two seconds off the mark in the hybrid Jaguar.
Rookie driver McNish in the new Toyota team had a fair share of problems and had to wait in the garage while the team went to work. McNish got back on track and ended up fifth fastest of the day.
The teams hussled to re-adjust the cars for the wet conditions, a wise move as the track remained wet the remainder of the day.
Kimi Raikkonen in his debut outing for McLaren set sixth fastest and appeared to be pleased with the Mercedes powerplant. BAR Honda team test driver Anthony Davidson was fourth fastest of the day.
See today's fast time</s> breakdown.
