Toro Rosso has announced that it will host a media day at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya on Tuesday February 13th. It can't exactly be described as a launch, as the team isn't quite sure that its 2007 car will be ready -- much the same as it isn't quite sure who its drivers will be and probably isn't quite sure where the circuit is.

Co-owner Gerhard Berger has repeatedly been quoted as saying that the not-quite-ready 2007 challenger is legal, despite moaning from Spyker and Williams that it isn't. Allegedly based on this year's Red Bull RB3, with random parts supplied by an 'independent' manufacturer, the mythical new Toro Rosso is causing a bit of a fuss.

The 2007 Super Aguri is apparently in the same boat, as according to reports it's based on last year's Honda. Berger is adamant that Toro Rosso has scrutinized the FIA regs and is perfectly within its rights to do what it's doing, whatever that actually is. We might find out next week -- but then again we might not.

Berger is also playing silly bergers with Toro Rosso's driver line up, with last year's racers Scott Speed and Tonio Liuzzi allegedly in 'pole position' for the seats but persistently not actually confirming them. Gerhard, mate, the Circuit de Catalunya is in Spain. Shaped like a Texan hat. Lots of Alonso fans.
