Weather conditions: Bright and sunny for the whole day. Air temperature: min 9, max 22 Celsius.
Track conditions: Some ice on the track in the morning session. Dry for the rest of the day. Asphalt temperature: min 7, max 23 Celsius.

"It has been quite a slow day really. We had a technical problem related to the gearbox, which took a long time to understand. This has now been cured and I am confident we will get some good running tomorrow."
Allan McNish
Best time: 1m21.684s
Laps completed: 41
"It has not been very good today following a promising first day. We had some problems in the morning that took some time to solve. This meant that we did not get out until the early afternoon and after that we concentrated on suspension work."
