After a day's testing this week, Rubens Barrichello is now enjoying a break with his family before travelling to England for next week's British Grand Prix. Naturally, the World Cup will be the main "theme" for his weekend.
"We will be something of a Brazilian colony watching the Final together, with Luciano Burti and other friends sitting in front of the television," said the winner of the last round of the world championship.
"I don't have any idea what to predict about the final score, but please let it be in Brazil's favour. I think Brazil can beat Germany, but the German approach is very serious and focussed, so we have to be careful. I think our best game was against England, because there was a lot of pressure and mind games going on. I don't think Germany had such a difficult task to get through to the final. Their opposition was not that strong so far, but I am sure it will be a good final."
The Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro man is still savouring his victory one week ago at the Nurburgring. "I am very happy about it," he admitted. "It's been an enjoyable week with everyone telling me it was a good win and I think about it still. One of the best things about this win, making it possibly even more special than my first one, was that Silvana and Eduardo were there. My wife had not been able to come to Hockenheim when I got my first F1 victory.
When you get out of the car having a done good job after a tough race, it is a good feeling to see everyone happy and to have your family around you. It makes life seem better."
Can he do it again in the British Grand Prix next Sunday? "I will certainly be trying to," said Rubens. "But Silverstone can be a tricky circuit. As long as we prepare well during Friday practice, I am sure the F2002 can be competitive there."
