The Mild Seven Benetton Renault Sport team started a three day test at the Barcelona circuit in Spain today. The team is continuing on from the Silverstone test (12-14 June) with our test driver Mark Webber concentrating on different tyre compounds, while Jenson Button progresses in the B201 in preparation for the forthcoming British Grand Prix.

Mike Gascoyne, Technical Director:

"We had a productive first day testing in Spain with Jenson in the B201. Today we were using an old engine specification, which we have got up to miles. The team managed to get a basic balance on the car and also tested the new parts that were introduced in Magny Cours last week, which we successfully evaluated.

"Mark in the B200 continued his tyre test programme with Michelin the entire day. We will be testing the upgraded specs of engines as run at the French Grand Prix. It's really good that we will be able to conduct such a complete test programme."
