LYSOL TO SPONSOR WATKINS GLEN BGN 200
WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. -- Watkins Glen International just received more good news for its June 23-25 NASCAR Busch Grand National 200. The circuit announced today that Lysol brand products, leaders in household cleaning, will sponsor the 200-mile race.
Last week, CBS Sports announced live television coverage of the $231,500 race, now known as the Lysol 200.
"We are very excited to announce that the Lysol brand will sponsor our Busch Grand National race," said John Saunders, President of Watkins Glen International. "The Lysol brand manufactures many well-known household products, and its commitment to quality is well known. This is a fine addition to our family of sponsors."
The Lysol 200 highlights a weekend which also features the IMSA Exxon World Sports Cars and Exxon GT Series in the 12th annual Glen Continental on Saturday. Additional events include the inaugural Ferrari Challenge on Saturday, and a three-hour IMSA Street Stock Endurance Championship, SCCA Barber Dodge Pro Series and the U.S. Formula Ford 2000 National Championship on Sunday morning.
The Lysol line of nearly 15 high performance cleaning and disinfecting products includes Lysol Disinfectant Spray, Lysol Basin Tub and Tile Cleaner, Lysol Toilet Bowl Cleaner, Lysol Deodorizing Cleaner, and Lysol Antibacterial Kitchen Cleaner.
Lysol brand products are produced by Reckitt & Colman Inc., a leading manufacturer and marketer of high-quality household, specialty food, personal care and professional products. Reckitt & Colman Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of London, England-based Reckitt & Colman plc.
"This is the first ever race sponsorship for the Lysol brand, and it is an honor to be associated with one of America's best known race courses," said Joe Healy, President of Reckitt & Colman's Household Products Division. "With the support and enthusiasm that upstate New Yorkers have for races at Watkins Glen, we are sure that this will be an exciting and successful event."
