Programme:
On the second of the Barcelona test days Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld continued to work on the mechanical and aerodynamical set-up of the BMW Sauber F1.08 as well as gaining more experience with the standard ECU. In perfect weather conditions both drivers followed different testing schedules in preparation for the first race of the 2008 season in Melbourne/Australia. Completing 96 (447 km) and 77 laps (359 km) respectively Kubica and Heidfeld collected valuable data concluding an overall positive day for the team
In the morning Nick Heidfeld did a precautionary stop on the track when a warning light came on. The problem was tracked to a minor technical issue which was solved on the spot, Heidfeld resumed testing after a few minutes. During the day Heidfeld and Kubica also conducted several practice starts and practice pitstops simulating race and qualifying conditions.
What comes next:
For a third and final day the BMW Sauber F1 Team will test in Barcelona tomorrow. Again Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld will be at the wheel of their respective F1.08 car.
