BMW Sauber is the second team to announce a 2008 launch date for its new car and the event will take place in Munich on January 14th. The presentation will be at BMW Welt, the manufacturer's new vehicle delivery centre, near to the BMW Tower and the city's Olympiapark.
Race drivers Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica will be present, along with BMW motorsport director Mario Theissen, technical director Willy Rampf and Peter Sauber, the former owner of the team and now a consultant. The F1.08 will be rolled out the following day at Valencia.
BMW took over Sauber and entered F1 as a constructor in its own right in 2006. The team finished fifth in the constructors' standings in its debut season and this year was second overall, albeit due to McLaren being disqualified from the championship, otherwise it would have been third. Heidfeld scored the best race finish of the year with second in Canada.
