BRAZILIAN GRAND PRIX - Interlagos, 10th April 1999 QUALIFYING

STEPHANE SARRAZIN Chassis 01 18th 12 laps Time: 1:20,016 "Yesterday my car's cockpit was modified in order to be proper for my size. I got a new seat which is now more comfortable and also the pedals were modified. This morning, during the free practice session, I felt much more comfortable in the car and I feel I drove better than yesterday. Tonight we'll work to eliminate the understeering. Also the seat will be furtherly improved for tomorrow. I'm very happy and I feel excited to start the race. "

MARC GENE' Chassis 03 21st 11 laps Time: 1:20,710 "I was unlucky today. This morning during the free practice my car had a small fire so I was forced to stop for a long time in order to sort out the problem. There was understeering on my car which was later solved. Unfortunately I could only complete a few laps. During the qualifying session, when I was covering the last lap my car ran out of control so I couldn't improve my time."

GIAN CARLO MINARDI: "We are satisfied with Sarrazin's good performance. Of course the driver must still get confident with the car but he is doing a very good job. Unfortunately Marc Gene went off the track while he was completing his last lap. There is still a hard work to do but we hope to do a good race tomorrow."

Roger Griffiths - (Ford Cosworth) Motorsport Project Leader: "We are very pleased that both drivers qualified, especially impressive was Stephane's first qualifying session. Both engines ran troublefree. We are now preparing tomorrow's race engines ready for a good race weekend."
