Bridgestone and Ferrari roast the opposition with victory in Canada
*Fisichella keeps up the pressure with another three points
*Barrichello fastest man on the track

Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro and Sauber Petronas once again made the most of their Bridgestone tyres to outwit the opposition in this afternoon's Canadian Grand Prix. Making the most of their consistent tyres, Michael Schumacher, Rubens Barrichello and Giancarlo Fisichella crossed the line in first, third and sixth places respectively having all used a two stop strategy.

Ferrari now has double the number of points of their nearest challenger in the Constructors' table while Sauber achieved their goal of consolidating their fifth place in the standings ahead of McLaren. It was an unlucky day, however, for fellow Sauber teammate Felipe Massa who went out of the race with just eight laps remaining.

Nick Heidfeld of the Jordan Ford team looked strong too until a pitstop incident marred his chances. His teammate Timo Glock, however, had a consistent race to finish his first ever Grand Prix in eleventh place. Zsolt Baumgartner of Wilux Minardi Cosworth also took the chequered flag.

Hisao Suganuma, Technical Manager of Bridgestone Motorsport:

"I was very proud of the Bridgestone tyre performance today especially as none of our drivers started the race from any higher than sixth on the grid. Together with a carefully chosen strategy, Ferrari was able to achieve first and third for Michael and Rubens. It gives me great satisfaction to see our tyre performance supporting our teams in their strategies."

"Sauber Petronas was also able to benefit from this and it is excellent to see Giancarlo taking more points having driven a solid and consistent race. Felipe had an unfortunate incident and we await news of how he is. Seven wins out of eight does not mean, however, that we shall stand still. There is always room for improvement and as soon as we return from the US, we will push ahead with our development programme."

Ross Brawn, Technical Director Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro:

"That was an exciting race with lots going on. We knew the nature of the Bridgestone tyres would be very good so we built a strategy that would utilise this to best effect in the race. We were held up a little bit at the beginning, which caused us some anxiety but once we got some free track, it all came together well. The drivers also seemed to have a little bit of a race amongst themselves which cost us some time and it was a shame Rubens had an off as he came out behind Ralf [Schumacher] - but we can't be too greedy!"

Willy Rampf, Technical Director Sauber Petronas:

"We didn't have a great start and got caught up in the traffic but as soon as we were able to settle into our long runs with a clear track ahead we were able to push our competitiveness. To gain back the positions was a credit to the car and Bridgestone tyres today."
