Canadian GP Jordan preview

Total Jordan Peugeot tested last week at Silverstone.

"The main focus of the test was to improve the mechanical handling characteristics of the car" explained Team Manager John Walton, "so we were working principally on the suspension geometry, the dampers and rockers, and the weight distribution. However we also tested a modified oil system which appears to be working well, did a bit of work with the aerodynamic package and continued development programme for the new EV2 engine".

Rubens used the test to work on his own driving style. "I spent a lot of years karting and in a kart you tend to leave your left foot resting on the brake all the time" he explained. "The brakes in a Formula One car are obviously farmore sensitive, but I was forgetting to remove my foot from the pedal and so consequently it was costing me time - particularly over the bumps. I spent some time practising to use just my right foot on both pedals and I think that might be the way for me to go".
