Canadian GP McLaren Friday notes

David Coulthard:
"We always run with extra fuel. But in any case you need to do it here because braking is so crucial at this track, that you need to see where you are with braking performance. The car felt really good, and I was able to concentrate on fine-tuning. We are making steady progress. I'm happy with the program we went through today. There is still a bit of work left for tomorrow but we are looking to be in good shape. I was working hard throughout both sessions to find the right set-up and explore the limits of the track."

Mika Hakkinen:
"We were using today's two sessions to work on our race set-up and made a lot of progress throughout free practice. If the conditions are like they were today for the race it's going to be difficult and keeping the car on the track will be a big challenge."

Ron Dennis:
"A trouble-free day and a great job by both drivers who systematically improved the cars throughout the sessions."
