Canadian GP Sauber preview

Team RED BULL SAUBER PETRONAS spent three days testing at Monza last week in preparation for the Canadian Grand Prix. In the course of determining the aerodynamic package for this weekend’s race, Pedro Diniz recorded the sixth fastest time, and Mika Salo the 16th overall.

Willy Rampf (Technical Director):
Our testing in Monza was successful, and we have a good baseline for the Canadian GP as a result.

Peter Sauber (Team Principal):
To maintain our challenge for a good position in the World Championship for Constructors it is important that we keep scoring points. Mika had a very good race in Monaco, and I believe we can use that as a strong foundation to support such aspirations. In the past Montreal has been a good circuit for us, in both F1 and sportscars.

Pedro Diniz (87 GPs, 10 World Championship points):
I had a few adventures at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve last year, so above all I will be looking this time for a troublefree practice and qualifying, and a good race finish.

Mika Salo (81 GPs, 28 World Championship points):
Montreal is a great city and I love the race track. It’s got a good mix of corners, but there’s never any grip on the first day. After the way that the car went in Monte Carlo I am definitely going there looking to score more points.
