Global Services company Damovo, is to supply Jordan Grand Prix with a complete communications network, on the eve of the British Grand Prix. The solution will incorporate an advanced data network that allows for the rapid transfer of data between locations. This network will greatly enhance the team's ability to communicate second by second within the race environment.

Improvements in vital areas, such as car to pit telemetry and vice versa, can affect the team's strategy and implementation during a race, which in turn affects on-track performance. The solution, which is being provided by Damovo in its capacity as Jordan's official business communications partner, will also enable the team to access their emails and vital race information via mobile phones or PDAs, whether stationed in the factory, at Silverstone, by the race-track, at home or in transit.

Eddie Jordan, Chief Executive commented: "Formula One is a very challenging environment that depends on fast, accurate communications. The solution will enable our team to work as efficiently as possible by enabling us to effectively share information quickly from almost any location. Damovo took the time to understand the challenges faced by the team and had the expertise and resources to develop a solution that we are confident in."

Pearse Flynn, CEO, Damovo said: "Damovo is delighted to supply technology that will provide the team with the resources and information it needs. By aligning technology and services with Jordan's business objectives, Damovo is enabling the team to transform its information into intelligence whilst cutting costs. This highlights the fact that Damovo provides advanced business communication solutions that can make an organisation more efficient and effective, even in the most diverse environments."

The solution will benefit Jordan's bottom line as Damovo has identified and removed costly equipment and redundant LAN architectures. The new infrastructure will also reduce costs by offering a callback facility enabling Jordan to benefit from the lower call rates available from its headquarters.

The project provides scope for the future by enabling prioritisation of network traffic and the creation of a more reliable network, allowing Jordan to explore the possibility of other initiatives, such as satellite communication.

Damovo will be integrating technology from its various partners to build the solution. Components will include switching technology from Extreme Networks and Cisco routers, which will provide a single network.
